Starbread
Probably one of the weirder recipes I’ve tried. Not in taste but because of one odd ingredient that is thrown in.
Recipe
Ingredients
Dough ingredients:
4 ½ cups all-purpose flour (560 grams)
1 ½ tsp salt
⅓ cup sugar (66 grams)
2 tsp instant yeast mix
1 ¼ cup milk (310 grams)
2 eggs
⅓ cup melted butter (75 grams)
Filling ingredients:
⅓ cup melted butter (75 grams)
⅔ cup brown sugar (135 grams)
⅓ cup warm milk (80 grams)
¼ cup flour (32 grams)
½ cup bread crumbs (63 grams)
Preparation
In your mixing bowl combine your dry ingredients with your milk and eggs
If your dough is dry add some milk, you want the dough to be on the wetter side
Add your melted butter and knead til smooth and elastic
Let the dough rise til doubled in size
To make the filling mix together your butter and sugar til combined then add the milk, flour, and breadcrumbs (breadcrumbs can also be substituted with graham cracker crumbs)
Once the dough has risen divide it into about 20-25 pieces
Take each portion and flatten it out placing about a tablespoon’s worth of filling (you’ll need to eyeball it) roll the dough and enclose the filling then tossing the dough roll in more breadcrumbs
Let all your rolls rise for another 30-45 minutes or so and preheat your oven to 350°F
Bake for 20 min or until golden brown
